What Do You Get When You...

  1. Have not slept more than 6 hours for _____ days
  2. Are pregnant
  3. Walk all around Sacramento in what feels like 90 degree heat
  4. Haven't drank your recommend 8-10 glasses of water for two days

Answer: Cankles

Cankle: noun (kang kul)
1: The absence of a defined ankle on a person caused by the calf of the leg merging directly into the foot; the calf appears to replace the ankle.

My cankles at the state capital
(embarrassing I know. I couldn't even wear my cute new ballet flats from my cousin, my feet would only do flip flops)

almost fully recovered (nail polish always helps)

I just got back from being in Sacramento for the past week for an interpreting conference, more to come on that later.

I swelled so bad with Alyssa's pregnancy. Flip flops was all I could do for the last five months of the pregnancy. You gotta watch out...once you start swelling, you will swell quicker and easier each time! But have hope...I didn't start to swell with Logan until the last few weeks!

edema all ready??? i think CA lends itself to swelling because while i would swell all the time with andrews pregnancy, i didn't swell once with lucy. my advice? go to germany for the next few months. maybe that will help.:) haha.

Now you have a really good excuse to put your feet up and do nothing for the next few months!

Hey LeeElle! great to hear from you! I'll definitely add you to my blog list of readers! Congrats on your little man on the way! We love our little guy and we're so glad he's finally here!

ps. Sorry about your swelling ankles...take it easy!

My cankled sista!! I feel an even deeper kinship with you now, LeeElle. Ah, the bonds of pregnant women. It's kind of like being a camel. At least if you got dropped off in the middle of a desert you would have your own water supply.

My feet looked like that for 2 or 3 days after Mateo was born. It's weird to look down and see big sausage feet, huh?
