My handsome boys on their first Fathers Day

John is a wonderful dad. He is very involved with Cohen despite his rigorous schedule. I've loved seeing the evolution of John these past five and a half years from enjoyable friend to fun boyfriend to loving husband and now sweet dad. He loves this little boy so much; they are already best buds. It makes my heart happy seeing them playing/smiling/laughing together. Cohen and I are very blessed.

(please note John's non jimmy neutron hair. A few times every year he decides to grow out quaff. It lasts about a month before it drives him crazy, we'll see how long it lasts this time)

The Weekend of John Part I

Two. Eight. on six. twenty. (Saturday)

Oh how I love this man!

You, Mr. Tullis, are absolutely wonderful. You really are my better half (my family likes me a lot more now that you are with me. sad but true.)

Random things about John

• He loves cheesecake, watermelon, feta cheese, thrift stores, and semi colons
• He can play cannon in D by pachelbel on the gee tar
• He loves the jokes on laffy taffys
• Was quite the rollerblader back in the day (though he no longer blades)
• He does not like brand names. I may have already shared this but When he started his internship he needed some nice khaki pants. He went to Mervyns and bought a pair that were OK. I suggested he try the Gap because they had a good selection for tall guys but he refused to make a purchase from that store. Fast forward to his first day of work. I came home and noticed he was rockin the khakis. I was shocked at how much better they looked. A few days latter John confessed that he returned the Mervyns brand and bought a pair from the Gap but promptly removed the Gap tags and labels so no one (including me ) would know.
• He takes the wrapper of his chap stick so it's just a white tube.
• He knows all the words to "jump around" you know "jump up, jump up, and get down" (sorry ladies, he's mine)

An update on baby Casper

• The boy is getting big and growing out of clothes everyday (tonight someone asked me if he was 9 months old)
• He loves it when I sign
• He laughs a lot. We can get a hearty guffaw out of him.
• He loves it when we read him books. He calms down and touches the pages. He'll sit still while we read to him
• He's become very tactile; touching, grabbing, and picking up everything then promptly putting it in his mouth
• He loves to rub his hand and tickle whoever is feeding him
• He's very interactive and continues to be social
• He loves to play peek-a-boo
• He is strong and loves to stand on your lap, the floor/table/any surface. We've been doing strength/resistance training with him; he loves his baby bow-flex machine.

weight: 15 lbs. 2 oz a little above the 50%

height: 26.5 inches somewhere between the 75-90% (vague I know)

Go See Cal

This past Sunday Cohen was sporting an outfit my brothers wore when they were wee lads. I think it is adorable. John said he looked like a used car sales man, hence the title.

If you are a So Cal resident you most likely have seen/heard the commercial for used cars sold by Cal. He was always sitting on top of an animal waving at the end of his commercials and the jingle said "Go see Cal, Go see Cal, Go see Cal".

For Mutual tonight we had a car rally. One of the tasks was to have your teams picture on the Internet then print the page. Check.

Cohen at 3 Months

He's getting BIG, as evidenced by his cheeks.

We started him on rice cereal and he loves it. When I take the spoon out of his mouth he lunges for more; I can't feed him fast enough.

He is a happy boy, especially in the morning when he wakes up. It's my favorite time; he just smiles and talks

at Graduation

He loves this play place from Kevin, Sarah, & Simon. He grabs the butterflies, hits the cat to play the music and kicks at the foot board.

Cohen is fascinated by ceiling fans. He doesn't want to take his off of them when they are on but his eyes dry out so he can't look up as long as he would like. It's funny to watch him fight it.

Beam Me Up Scotty

Meet my new boyfriendHis name is Chris. We spent 126 enjoyable minutes together today.

I am not a trek-y. I've never attended a convention, bought a USS Enterprise lego set, or even watched an episode of Star Trek but rotten tomatoes and everyone else has been raving about this movie. So John and I went on an afternoon date to the theater to see for ourselves and Oh-My-Gosh it was wonderful!

All I have to say is

John graduated this weekend from law school. Now all he has to do is the pass the bar and he'll be a lawyer!

This was Cohen's first time meeting Uncle Bro, Aunt Sylvia, and cousins Jason & Carol, and Brian & Becky. We had a good time visiting with them.

We started the festivities on Saturday night. John's parents treated this good looking group to a tasty dinner at Fritto Misto. I highly recommend this place. I'm not usually a fan of Italian restaurants because frankly I can make a lasagna, fettucini, and spaghetti as good as they can but this place has a funky flavorful spin when it comes to pasta and they are reasonably priced.

Yes that is a barf mark on my shirt, the joys of being a mom.

you may remember this post from last year. Knowing John's obsession with being called a Dr. I couldn't help but get him a lab coat with his title embroidered on it. I having been waiting all year to give this to him.

The Ol' Ball Game

Last Friday we went to the Angles game
John begrudgingly came, more for the company than the activity. He thinks that baseball is the most boring game to watch/attend. I, however, love it! Thank you John for taking away precious study time to hang out with us (and our friends)

2 Months

Cohen at 2 Months

• He is a happy smiley boy
• He does not like to be held over the shoulder or facing your chest; he needs be facing out so he can be a part of all the action. Along those same lines he does not like to be in his car seat on the stroller. He wants to be sitting up and looking around.
• He loves to stand
• He loves showers
• He is teething, yes you read that correctly, teething.
• He enjoys a good stretch. Whenever he wakes up or when we take him out of his car seat his arms shoot up and he arches his back for a good 30+ seconds
• He loves to sit in his bumbo
• He has found his voice and is constantly cooing
• He loves having his diaper changed. What is it with males and being naked?

Head - 90th Percentile

Length - 24 inches (90th Percentile)

Weight - 12 lbs 10 oz (75th Percentile)

Yes, his head is in the 90th percentile, but that's okay because it is directly proportional to his body. It would be freaky if his head was in the 90th and length 75th, or vice versa; so take your own measurements before you even think about commenting on the size of his head.

Practically Perferct In Every Way

My birthday was last Saturday. The big two seven. I'm now officially in my late 20's...weird.

The Gift

John gave me the soundtrack to this play

so I could know all the new songs when I go to see it with him in New York!

This summer I'm to Philadelphia for a work conference so we're going to stay a few extra days and head up the coast to the big apple. I'm so excited! Good work John.

The Festivities

Utah-Spring Break 09

We had a short but super sweet time in Utah. Sadly I did not take many pictures but here are the highlights

We also went snowboarding.

I have been snowboarding for a few years and have never committed to being goofy or regular foot. I am able to hold my own for the most part doing what I refer to as the "falling leaf" (basically switching feet all the way down). I know how to turn, I've just always been scared to do it. John decided it was high time I stuck with one so I could keep up with the big boys and I happy to report that I did it! I'm regular.

By the end of the week we were all exhausted

Thank you g-ma & g-pa for letting us (and everyone else) stay with you. Thank you Mom for babysitting Cohen so we could have fun on the slopes and go out with friends.
